Kansas Government Finance Officers Association

KSGFOA History

What is KSGFOA?

KSGFOA is the Kansas Government Finance Officers Association, the state chapter of the national Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). It was founded in 1999 and serves more than 200 professionals across the state of Kansas from state, county, and city governments: school districts, colleges, universities, special districts, and private firms.

KSGFOA was established as a nonprofit organization to promote and foster excellence in governmental financial management through education programs, technical referral network and information concerning policies that may affect the finance professional.

Partnership with Wichita State University

To enhance services, expand membership and increase professional development opportunities, the KSGFOA has partnered with Wichita State University’s Public Policy and Management Center.  The PPMC has provided board support, financial management, membership development and operational support for the Association since 2015.  The PPMC has a long partnership with KSGFOA and has been delivering planning and development services for the KSGFOA Annual Conference and other professional development opportunities for over 25 years.
